There is a city somewhere in Asia when the time stopped. Uygur citizens of Turpan still living as it was described hundred years ago by the scientist Aurel Stein. Some elements of their culture are rests of very old times, surviving the China’s military occupation or the contemporary industrialisation of the region. The city is presented from the point of view of some students visiting Asia.

Valahol Ázsia mélyén, Turfán városban megállt az idő. A városka ujgur lakói ma is úgy élnek, mint száz éve, mikor Stein Aurél tudósított róluk. Életformájuk egyes elemei több ezer éve változatlanok, átvészelve a kínai megszállás és a kortárs iparosítás csapdáit is. A film arról szól, hogyan utazott a helyszínre és milyennek látta a néhány magyar egyetemista Ázsiát.
